I’ve spent the last week on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, had no idea what I would blog about until I arrived… There tied up right in front of my eyes is the Army Corps of Engineers newest Shallow Draft Dredge, “Murden”.

Commissioned on May 29th of this year, she is working her first job dredging the Hatteras Channel to make it safe for the Hatteras to Ockracoke Island ferry runs. Sand from storms has filled the channel in making area unnavigable.
