From our friends at the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary who secured the Hudson for the running of the 21st annual Tugboat Race.

The USCG Auxiliary vessel Lady B. acts as the Patrol Commander and secures the area for the 21st Great North River Tugboat Race and Competition sponsored by the Working Harbor Committee. She had previously served the Coast Guard as USCGC Point Brown before becoming an Auxiliary facility. Photo by Auxiliarist James Chin.


Friend of WHC, David Silver who had the auspicious privilege of being on board the winning tug, McAllister Resolute during the race, shot this video from inside the wheel house, as the speed record was broken at 14 knots. 14 knots!!! What a rush!
