Monday the SUNY Maritime training ship Empire State sailed out of NY Harbor on their annual cruise.

I was fortunate to be invited by Bjoern Kils to come out on his NY Media Boat to photograph the sailing. As a thunderstorm moved in when we were sailing, we were invited to sail on the yacht “Sean Shipco” to escort the ship out to sea.

A big thank you to Bjoern Kils and Captain Eric of NY Media Boat, and to Sean Shipco for this experience.

Spotting on, John Skelson.
