The highlight of this week in NY Harbor was the arrival of the French Missile Tracking Ship “Monge” (actually arrived in a rain storm last week).

No one seems to know for sure why she is here, though speculation is that she is here for the Papal and/or UN events taking place in the city next week. (Any intel on that would be appreciated.)

Her location at the Homeport Pier on Staten Island is not good for a photo, but I will take what I can get.

Otherwise, things are quiet around the port, tugs containerships, and barges.
