The USCG suspended the search for survivors of the missing ship El Faro at sunset yesterday, after massive search efforts that had been underway for a week, [U.S. Coast Guard].

U.S Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. National Guard and commercial tugs have searched more than 183,000 square nautical miles since last Thursday, looking for the missing ship and her crew of 33 men and women on board.

The mission will now focus on recovery of the voyage data recorder, according to Bella Dinh-Zarr, vice chairwoman of the National Transportation Safety Board.
