The U.S. Navy will send a ocean tug vessel, equipped with listening devices and sonar to search for the “black box” or voyage data recorder from the missing cargo ship El Faro. [Reuters]

USNS Apache will search an area of 100 square miles just off Crooked Island in the southern Bahamas, according to Navy officials.

Reuters: The 226-foot (69 meters) Apache is carrying diving and salvage experts, as well as a team from the NTSB and the American Bureau of Shipping, responsible for marine inspections.
