Very exciting news this morning – Lightship Frying Pan is headed to Caddell’s for a haul-out.
Tugs Pelham and Dorothy J of Henry Marine have nudged her out of her long-time berth at Pier 66 Maritime and are towing the “pink lightship” to the KVK for a new coat of paint and some fixy-fixy. <— important maintenance and restoration.
Fireboat John J Harvey is escorting her to Caddell’s (so sad I couldn’t make it!) – and a big thank you goes to Renee Lutz Stanley for these beautiful action shots of the trip out!

If you see them go by, WAVE!

Always happy to see money invested in preserving our maritime heritage. Frying Pan Shoals itself has generated many good sea stories over the years.
