A local boater was rescued by New York’s Bravest over the weekend, after he slipped and made a splash-landing into the coooold waters of Jamaica Bay while working on his boat.
FDNY land and marine units responding found the poor fellow clinging to a boat (not his), so chilled to the bone he couldn’t haul himself out of the water.
New York Daily News: The victim, believed to be in his late 40s, was bear-hugging another boat attached to a pier. He was in the water for around 15 minutes and was so cold he couldn’t grab on to a rope or ladder.
