Four of the world’s largest shipping companies – CMA CGM, China Cosco Shipping, Evergreen Line and OOCL – have banded together to form ‘Ocean Alliance’, a joint-venture they hope will help better position them against global leaders Maersk Lines and MSC.

The four-way vessel-sharing alliance will have a combined 350 vessels and about 26% market share in the Asia-to-Europe route compared with Maersk and MSC’s 34%.
