In an unexpected turnaround, French shipping company CMA CGM has announced that they will suspend voyages by CMA CGM Benjamin Franklin between Asia and U.S.West Coast ports including Los Angeles, Long Beach, Oakland and Seattle.
Benjamin Franklin is 398m long and can carry 18,000 TEUs. The largest containership to call at a U.S. port for the first time last December, now a few short months later CMA CGM has canceled the route, citing weak market conditions.
Benjamin Franklin will be redirected to routes connecting Asia and Europe.
