A couple of weeks ago, South Brooklyn Marine Terminal in Sunset Park reactivated terminal facilities with the receipt of a shipment of giant crane parts destined for the New York Wheel project on Staten Island’s North Shore.
According to city officials, this is the first large cargo shipment received at South Brooklyn Marine Terminal in more than a decade.
DNAinfo: BBC Scotland docked at the terminal June 28 carrying large crane parts to be used for the construction of the New York Wheel, a massive Ferris wheel that’s expected to open next year on Staten Island’s waterfront, according to the city’s Economic Development Corporation.
The work at the Sunset Park terminal is expected to continue at least through September as another shipment is expected in the fall. Read more from DNAinfo here…
