The massive rescue effort was carried out by the U.S. Coast Guard, together with Puerto Rican police, fire and pilot marine units as well as commercial tug boats and private good Samaritan boaters who joined in the help in the evacuation efforts.

Passengers and crew were taken to the port of San Juan where emergency service personnel treated them for heat stroke, injuries, shock and dehydration. Thankfully, there were no reported fatalities or life-threatening injuries. Read more from the Wall Street Journal and the Virgin Islands Consortium.
