the 23rd Annual Great North River Tugboat Race
& Competitions!
Pier 84, West 44th Street and Hudson River Park, NYC
Be right in the action on the Circle Line Spectator Boat at the 23rd annual Great North River Tugboat Race & Competitions!
Get onboard the Spectator Boat and see the whole event up-close. Cruise with the Parade of Boats, and even race alongside the tugs in the big race!
The Spectator Boat sails from 9:30 am – 11:30 am (Pier 83, w 42nd St., Hudson River Park in Manhattan). Boarding begins at 9:15 a.m. – so you’ll be on the water before the big parade!
Spectator Boat Tickets: $25 adults, $20 seniors (age 64+) and $12 for children ages 3 and up.
There’s more fun for the whole family after the race! Watch epic battles for supremacy in the nose-to-nose pushing and line-toss contests.
You can test your mettle in the amateur line-toss competition, or try your luck at in the ever-popular spinach-eating contest. There’s a division for kids too!
Public viewing from Pier 84 is free.

10:00 am Parade of Tugs from Pier 84 (w 44th St./Hudson River Park) to the start line @ Pier I at w 70th St. in Riverside Park South
10:30 am Race Starts (runs from Pier I to Pier 84)
11 am Nose-to-nose pushing contests & Line-toss competition
Noon Amateur line-toss & Spinach-eating contests
1 pm Awards Ceremony
2 pm Tugs Depart

This is the last weekend to see my photo exhibit, “Tugboats, Workhorses of NY Harbor” on the Historic Lighthouse Tender “Lilac” located at Pier 25, at the foot of N. Moore St in Manhattan. I plan on being there for a while Sunday afternoon.
