Lots of tug traffic on the KVK with all the holiday packages are starting to ship in for the big selling season. Containerships piled high with i-phones,  sweaters covered in reindeer and RoRo’s full of shiny, new cars.

Clocks fall-back this weekend, which means morning light will be best. Until next week… John Skelson.

Sunday morning I arrived at the “Office” at about 0900 hrs. It was a quiet low-key morning, the usual tugs were passing and 3 inbound ships also… I am leaving after the third ship passed… 1130hrs;

I start to leave, and then, off in the distance, something is coming. Looks like a Moran “Tractor Tug”, but both of the NY T Tugs are visible to me??? Guess I will be here a little longer!

As the tug gets closer I can read the name, “James D Moran”. That’s a new, out of the box new tug arriving at Moran Port Richmond. Sometimes you are just in the right spot at the right time and get the photos.
